Los Angeles Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (January 20, 2012)

I went to the Clippers vs. Timberwolves game last Friday. I went with my dad. We got to sit in the Premier section at mid-court! Every sports game I've ever gone to I've tried to get on the big screen. I got on it for the first time ever! I got on it 3 times. There is a reason I wrote that 3 that you will find out. The second time I lifted up my shirt so people could see my stomach! Chris Paul didn't play again.

Here were our pre-game selections:

For the whole time I did the first selection and he did the second.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Utah Jazz (January 17th, 2012)

Here's a report on the the Clippers vs. Jazz game from Tuesday. The game was all Jazz the whole game. This is probably because Chris Paul sat this game, along with the fact that the Clips were away. Millsap ended the game with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Blake Griffin also did good. With a double-double, he ended the game with 10 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. Today, I went to the Clippers vs. Nets game with my friend Riley and my dad. It was my second year in a row going to the Clippers game on Martin Luther King Day. Chris Paul was questionable to play. Chris Paul ended up not playing. They brought in a D-league player named Courtney Fortson. He was about 5'5", but he was listed at 5'11". Courtney could dunk! At the end of the first quarter the Clippers were winning, 32-17. They were also winning after the second quarter, 53-40. The Clippers were winning after the 3rd, 74-63. And the Clippers ended up winning 101-91.

2nd Weekly Clippers Questionnaire

This is this week's Clippers Questionnaire:

How many games will the Clippers win this season?

Who is the best player on the Clippers?

Who will score the most points for the Clippers this season?

Los Angeles Lakers @ Los Angeles Clippers (January 14th, 2012)

Hello everyone. 2 days ago the Clippers played the Lakers, and beat 'em for the third time this season(two of those being in the preseason). Kobe Bryant got 42 points, that being his fourth game straight going above forty. After the first half, the Clippers were winning by 13, but in the third quarter, the Lakers made a little come back bringing them to be only down by 4. Unfortunately, they weren't as good in the fourth, and lost by eight. Kobe Bryant got 42 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Chris Paul got 33 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Blake Griffin got a double-double(which is no surprise) with 22 points and 14 assists. Billups got 19 points, and Butler got 13, and Jordan got 10 rebounds. The Clippers in fact controlled the boards the whole game, ending it 50-42 Clippers, as well as the offensive glass, ending that 17-11 Clippers, despite being the worst rebounding team against the best.

The Clippers opened the game with a 13-4 run, which meant something good was about to happen. The game also got physical. Darius Morris went up for a shot, and Griffin pushed him as he came down. Lakers coach Mike Brown got mad and he was called for a technical, while nothing was called on Griffin. Morris got back though by draining a buzzer-beater from beyond half-court. Let's look at the stats leaders:

Points Leaders
Clippers: Chris Paul, 33
Lakers: Kobe Bryant, 42

Rebounds Leaders
Clippers: Blake Griffin, 14
Lakers: Andrew Bynum, 16

Assists Leaders
Clippers: Chris Paul, 6
Lakers: Andrew Bynum, 4

Steals Leaders
Clippers: Chris Paul, 3
Lakers: Kobe Bryant, 2

Blocks Leaders
Clippers: Brian Cook, 1
Lakers: Kobe Bryant, 1

I thought the player of the game was Kobe Bryant.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Miami Heat (January 11, 2012)

On January 11, the Clippers played the Heat. The Heat made it to the championship last year, but lost to the Mavericks. The star impact for this game was Chris Paul. He had 27 points and 11 assists. After the first quarter, the game was 24 to 21 and the Heat were winning. At the end of the second quarter, the score was 48-43 and the Heat were still winning. When the buzzer sounded for the 3rd quarter to end, the score was 70-69 and the Clippers took the lead! Then, the 4th quarter ended and it was tied 86-86. In overtime the Clippers won 95-89.

These were the stat leaders:

Yesterday the Clippers played the Trailer Blazers. LeMarcus Aldridge had seven rebounds and 18 points for the Blazers. Paul didn't play as much, since he collected his fourth foul in the third quarter. He had 11 points. Blake Griffin had only 4 points in the first half, but finished strong in the second half with 14 points in that half. Marcus Camby got his first double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Griffin also had a double-double. The game was fun, I just wish the Clips could've won. Let's see the stats:

Los Angeles Clippers vs Milwaukee Bucks (January 7th, 2012)

Yesterday, I went to the Los Angeles Clippers vs Milwaukee Bucks game! I ended up going by telling my dad that they were playing 2 days ago and he said, "Why don't we go there instead of going to their house?". We went with my friend Riley and his dad. Riley recently created Celtics Nation and Thunder Universe!

They picked us up. We were going to ride the train, but it was to late. We ended up passing the stadium, finding a parking spot ten minutes after the game was supposed to start, finding a shortcut, crossing the street, running through Staples Center, having to go to a different aisle, and making the game 2 seconds before tip-off.

After the first quarter, the score was 15-18 and the Clippers were winning. There were a bunch of amazing dunks by Blake Griffin throughout the game, including an alley-oop from Chris Paul. Lob city! When the first half ended, the score was 40-38 and the Bucks were winning! When the 3rd quarter ended, the score was 65-72 and the Clippers were winning. The Clippers ended up winning 92-86!

Here are some halftime stats:

Chauncey Billups: 6 points

Blake Griffin: 10 points, 8 rebounds

Chris Paul: 4 points

Caron Butler: 6 points, 4 rebounds

In the third quarter Caron Butler got 14 points! That brought him to 20!

Blake Griffin got to a double-double with 6:14 left in the game. That brought him to 20 points, 10 rebounds.

Here are the stats leaders:

Points:

Brandon Jennings: 21

Blake Griffin: 22

Rebounds:

Drew Gooden: 13

Blake Griffin: 14

Assists:

Brandon Jennings: 7

Chris Paul: 7

Steals:

Brandon Jennings: 2

Chris Paul: 4

Blocks:

Jon Leuer: 2

DeAndre Jordan: 3

Chauncey Billups didn't do as good as normal from beyond the three point line, finishing 2 out of 6. (Same stats from beyond the three point line as Caron Butler)

Here is a picture of a sign I got:

Did you watch the game?

Who do you think was player of the game? I think it was Blake Griffin.

Weekly Clippers Questionnaire

Hi. I, Mark, will be doing a weekly clippers questionnaire where I ask some questions. Comment and answer these questions.

  1. The Clips are playing the Bucks tonight. Who's a better center: DeAndre Jordan or Andrew Bogut
  2. Will Vinny Del Negro be a good coach?
  3. How many 3 pointers will Chris Paul make this season?

Answer!

Chauncey Billups

I'm going to tell you guys about Chauncey Billups right now! He was drafted 3rd by the Boston Celtics in the 1997 NBA Draft! This guy is an amazing 3 point shooter. I'm going to tell you his statistics from behind the 3 point line after tonight's game!

2 seasons ago he was on the Denver Nuggets. Last season, he was traded to the New York Knicks with Carmelo Anthony. With him, Carmelo, and Amere Stoudemire I was suprised they were not the best team in the NBA! This season, he ended up on the Clippers!

Awards:

NBA Champion

NBA finals MVP

5 time all-star

Do you like Chauncey Billups?

Figure it out: how many teams has he been on?

Caron Butler

I'm going to tell you some about Caron Butler. Here's a picture:
James Caron Butler is a small forward in the NBA. Butler played at Connecticut, where he averaged 15.6 points per game, and 7.6 rebounds per game in his freshman year. In his sophomore season, he averaged 20.3 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. After his sophomore year, he declared himself for the 2002 NBA Draft.

Butler was selected with the 10th pick in the draft by the Miami Heat. After two years with the Heat, they traded him to the Lakers. He played with them for a year, and then was traded to the Wizard. He signed a 5 year contract with them, and earned the nickname "Tough Juice". He was traded to the Mavericks and played there for two years. The Clippers then signed him. He now averages 16.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. Here's a list of transactions Butler went through:

DeAndre Jordan

Since I've told you about my two favorite players on the Clippers, it is time that I tell you about my third favorite, DeAndre Jordan! DeAndre Jordan is a great player. He is also a great dunker. I think he is the fourth best dunker in the league after Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, and Serge Ibaka. Him and Blake Griffin make a great front-court.

DeAndre Jordan was the 35th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. In one of his games, he was the third person to ever have 10 dunks in one game!  That tells you how much of a monster this guy is! He is by far the best center the the Clippers have!

Here is a picture of him:

Have you ever heard of DeAndre Jordan?

Who do you think is the best center on the Clippers?

Chris Paul

Earlier today, I told you about Blake Griffin. Now, it's time to tell you about the best point guard in the NBA, Chris Paul. Chris Paul was the 4th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets! He played there until this season. Chris Paul said he wanted to be traded. First, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Then, David Stern (NBA commissioner) said it was not a fair trade, so Chris Paul was still on the Hornets. After that, he got traded to the Clippers.

Chris Paul is now very important to the Clippers. They've needed a good point guard. Before they got him their two best point guards were Mo Williams and Eric Bleadsoe. Put together, you cannot compare them to Chris Paul.

Awards:

2006 Rookie of the Year

4 time all-star

Here is a picture of him I got from Wikipedia:

Have you ever heard of Chris Paul?

How important do you think he is to the Clippers?

Rookie Report: Trey Thompkins

Today I'm going to tell you about rookie Trey Thompkins. Here's a picture of him:
Howard "Trey" Samuel Thompkins III is a 6 foot 10 inch power forward who played for the University of Georgia and is now playing, obviously, for the Clips. Thompkins played for the Wesleyan School in high school. He averaged 27.5 points per game and 14.7 rebounds per game in his senior year. He moved on to play for the University of Georgia and averaged 15.7 points per game and 7.8 rebound per game. He was in the 2011 NBA draft and was drafted by the Clips with the 37th overall pick.

I'm looking forward to a great year with Thompkins.

Blake Griffin

Today, I think I'll tell you about the last rookie of the year, Blake Griffin. In 2009, Blake Griffin was the first pick in the NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers! Before his first season started, Blake Griffin injured his knee! He had to sit out the whole season, so the Clippers were still terrible and tickets were very cheep.

Just because of Blake Griffin, tickets went up by about $10! He was healthy enough to play last season. I think he got better because of his injury somehow! He was a monster last season. Here are his two nicknames and how he got them. The first is The Blake Show. That is because people only came to Clippers games to see him play. Blake Griffin's second nickname was The Poster Child. That was because he has so many amazing dunks.

Awards:

2010-2011 Rookie of the Year

2010-2011 Slam Dunk Contest Champion

1 time all-star

Here are my Blake Griffin pennants:

Do you like Blake Griffin?
What is another nickname you think he should have?

  3. Chauncey Billups
  4. Caron Butler

Also this year they picked up Chris Paul, Caron Butler, and Chauncey Billups!

Here are my top 5 (in order) favorite players from the Clippers:
